Replacement router
I current have a R6400 router. My ISP is offering a 1 gig connection to the home. My R6400 doesnt go that high on the Wan port. Which Netgear router would be best to support this 1 gig connection to...

plemans has given you the best answer to the original question. Bit it you are really lusting after a new router, and want to use the new service as an excuse, for get about the speed and look at the other things you want to achieve. Maybe better WiFi?

My first move would be to stick with the existing router, follow what plemans suggests and see how that works out.
