I’ve set up my router and for some reason it does not see the Internet. I have already renamed the router to my previous router name How do I clear out everything and start new
Pressing the reset button for around 15 seconds (or at least until the power LED changes color or starts blinking will factory reset the router.
PS many cable providers will require the modem to be powered off when changing routers, (this is due to them often not accepting a new MAC address from a different router until they have been powercycled).
For some fiber providers such as Verizon Fios, some of their older ONTs will need the old router to release its DHCP lease on the WAN port, or have the ONT powered off for a few minutes before they will accept a new router.
Beyond that, the router name doesn't matter.
