routerlogin.net foul up

About 6 months ago, I purchased a NETGEAR router, NETGEAR network switch and a NETGEAR access point.  a very helpful tech assisted me to set up the network.  Recently, I decided to see if there was any firmware updates, and tried to access www.routerlogin.net.  I was unable to do so because routerlogin.net requires me to answer questions that were never posed to me.  I called NETGEAR and because I purchased the equipment more that three months ago, they cannot assist me unless I buy a support package.  I'm a little leary buying support in order to access a website.  Any suggestions?
