Security Email

I am having a problem setting up Security email to my icloud account.  I have followed all the directions I can find but still get failure to send messages in the message log.  Setting i have used are: smpt.mail.icloud.com; outgoing port 587; also tries ports 25 and 465.  Anyone have any ideas.  Thanks.     Per  https://support.apple.com/en-us/102525

    • Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
    • SSL Required: Yes
      • If you see an error message when using SSL, try using TLS or STARTTLS instead.
    • Port: 587
    • SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
    • Username: Your full iCloud Mail email address (for example, johnappleseed@icloud.com, not johnappleseed).
    • Password: Use the app-specific password that you generated when you set up the incoming mail server
