Setting Up New Router
Can you set up a Netgear router before you connect to a modem then connect the ISP modem later.
I want to put in all my current SSID and MAC Access setting into my new router before I swap it out with my old router so that there is a seamless transition.
So i want to know if I can plug the new router into my laptop go into the web based setting put in all of my SSID and password info and all my Access control setting then after that is done connect it to the ISP modem.

Yes. I do this as well if I bring on something new. Has good migration process for wifi devices. Don't have to reboot those.
Only the ISP modem or ONT needs to be rebooted when before you connect the new router to that.
Like FURRYe38 says, yes you can do it. I change routers every couple of months and just re-use the ssid so devices auto connect. It makes it super easy to do and manage.
