Should the modem/router have it's wifi turned off when connected to Orbi mesh system?

There's always plus/minuses.
If you leave the ISp router in router mode, you can always use it as backup wifi or even for those devices close to it to offload the main wifi.
But then you're restricted to the ISP's routers capabilities. If you like using armor/parental controls/etc, they're disabled in AP mode so you have to rely on the ISP's device.
