Slower connection

I finally decided to ditch xfinitys xfi gateway and got a Rax45 AX4300 (router) and Arris sb8200 (modem). Took a bit to setup but It’s working so I decided to do a Speedtest on my phone and it’s about 100-200mb slower, jumped on my pc which is wired and it can barely get 94mbps. I use to get 600-800mbps with the xfinity gateway. Speeds across 2.4/5hz and wired have decreased, is there anything I can do to improve my speeds since I don’t want to switch back

    Bit worrying that it took a bit to setup. What happened? Maybe it has some clues as to what you see now.

     

    Why do the speedtest on the phone? That means you are using wifi, unless you used the Nighthawk app.

     

    I'm afraid I don't know what test you did when you "jumped on" your PC. Wifi? Wired LAN?

     

    Then there is the missing detail on the firmware on the Rax45. What is it? A  number, not "the latest" which is often no such thing.

    What did you do with the switch over? Reset all the new kit and set it up for a new network? Does the ISP know that you have thrown a new modem at it?
