routers don't care what OS you're using.
If you were having an issues, I'm betting it was a settings issue.
In terms of your speeds changing, are you using smart connect? That combines the 2.4ghz and the 5ghz (not even sure if that router supports smart connect). 2.4ghz is a much slower network and sensitive to interference. 5ghz is significantly faster. Wired will be faster still. (doubt the R6700 would hit 800mbps over wireless).
Not sure about smart connect, the 800 number is from the wired connection to my Mac Studio m2.
800 over wired connection sounds correct. for the R6700 2.4ghz might be 50-80mbps and 5ghz maybe 300-500mbps (under optimal conditions).
What actual issue were you having with the new router?
- I run a recording studio with the SSL nucleus and if I unplug the Ethernet cable that goes from the router to the MAC STUDIO M2 then the nucleus works perfectly but one I plug that cable in the most of the functions on the nucleus like select, mute and solo does not work. But with this old router it all works fine and that’s with all the Ethernet cables connected
