static connection setup D6400 modem to router AX5400
My internet led goes red every couple of days but I still have internet. If I turn off and restart the router it goes back to normal. May be I have setup the static address wrong. can anybody help me...

If you want to get the most out of the RAX40, the last thing you want is the D6400 in modem/router mode. Faffing around with IP addresses isn't the solution. It should be in modem-only mode.
Be warned that if you do that you can expect problems if you have power cuts. With my D6400 in modem mode, it was so slow to boot up that the R7800 router behind it got fed up of waiting and timed out, leaving me with a dead network.
If you do hit this problem, and if you can lay your hands on something like the DM200 second hand at a reasonable price, leap at the chance.
Sadly, neither Netgear, nor most other brads, now makes modem only boxes. (A technician from my ISP said that they had told ISPs that they have to supply modem/routers.)
