TO: Netgear Why does your router think it needs to ping your domains every 3 second?

As the title suggest my router which is now in AP only mode seems to want to ping netgears domains every 3 seconds. This seems a bit unneccessary. 

Hopefully this is just a bug, but if not it needs an explaination. I know I am not the only person that has complained about it so its not isolated to just me. And to make sure I didn't have anything configured to do this I went through the device this morning to check and make sure I didn't have something selected to do it. I even changed the NTP server addresses to not use Netgear just in case.
