Trying to get an open nat type on my rax40 router

Question

Hey guys I been having this problem for a while I had to support help me last time but then I reset my router because I got booted and now it’s back to nat type 3 I been trying to get it back by port forwarding but it doesn’t seem to help any change anyone here can help me understand maybe I’m just not that smart

It’s connected right into my internet gate in my apartment don’t have a modem only have the router

What is that?&nbsp;
Thats the key question.&nbsp;
If its an apartment that supplies all the apartments with internet for free (part of the rent), they might have their own carrier grade (or less) gateway setup that changes the nat.&nbsp;

Those apartment networks, like university campuses, are notoriously troublesome and are difficult to diagnose. Netgear's consumer stuff is just that, consumer, which usually means attached to a modem of some sort.

One thing to check is the mode of your router.
&nbsp;
If it comes from a router for the whole building, the RAX may have been in AP mode. The reset will have put it back into router mode.

So if it’s the ap mode thats been switched back how would I change that I’m really sorry guys I’m normally not so bad with technology but this Stuff seems so confusing to me
