Use Nighhawk X6 with Mesh WIFI MR60

Hi - I just purchased a Mesh Wifi 6 MR60 model with one satellite. Can I wirelessly connect my Nighthawk X6 model AC 3200 to the MR60 and use it as an additional satellite or extender? If so, how?

Same question for another old router- Linksys WRT54G2 V1.

Thanks for any suggestions - would like to use all exisitng hardware for best home wifi network.

  • No you can't "use it as a satellite" as part of the mesh system.

You could hardwired it in and use it as an access point though. Just make sure to set it as an access point mode, set its wireless channels different than the ones the orbi is on, and use a different ssid or it'll cause issues with your mesh roaming.

Thank you for the reply. The MR60 only has one ethernet port on back which I have to use to connect to our desktop in the same room.  I want the Nighhawk as an access point in another room.  Should I use an ethernet splitter or is there some better way to do this?

using an cheap unmanaged ethernet switch you give you more ethernet ports.
