EX6250 would be a better idea, but I assumed that AJGCJG had an R6250 lying around.

yeah the R or EX was kind of important.
The R6250 doesn't have extender/repeater mode. Its a router that has access point/bridge mode.
The EX6250 is an extender and has an access point mode as well.
Sorry for the confusion.
