Using RX20 as a stand-alone wifi router
Newbie question here.
I purchased a RAX20-100NAS to be used in my live audio mixing network.
I have a Behringer XAIR XR18 mixer that is controlled from my iPad. The XR18 has its own WIFI but limits the number of connections to 4. I run Mixing Station which uses one connection. There is also an "monitor" app that bandmates can use to tweak their own monitor mixes, with one connection used for each user.
The NetGear router connects to the XR18 with a CAT-5 cable and is intended to be the WIFI interface to "the world". The router will never be connected to a cable modem or internet.
I want to change the RAX20 WIFI name and set a fixed IP address. If I plug the XR18 ethernet cable into one of the 1-4 jacks (as it would be when I am using it), Nighthawk app finds the router but gets bogged down with "no cable connected". If plug the XR18 ethernet cable into the RAX20 internet jack, Nighthawk says "cables connected" but then bogs down on "Internet not connected".
How do I connect to the RAX20 and make these changes?
- Forget the app. Connect a wired PC to the RAX20 and login into its Web Interface at http://routerlogin.net or http://192.168.1.1 then make the changes as you like.
