wall mounting AX11000 RAX200 (Imperial Shuttle Special Edition) orienttion

All the guides say and show antenna positioning as vertically.

then comes the "Imperial Shuttle" editions of the routers.  (AX11000, AX6000, e.g. although my NetGear APP displays the router as "RAX200")

if i need to mount this on the wall, the mounting holes imply that the antennae will be pointing out directly into the room, away from the wall.

is this really a recommended orientation?

  • Most routers these days have omnidirectional antenna's in them. doesn't mean there isn't a bit of optimal positioning as they tend to work better horizontal (broadcast covers a floor level). Placing it veritally might impact it enough to change that. All you can do is try it.

I wall mounted my RAX200 and it works fine but I also have an orbi setup providing the majority of my coverage because I've always had dead spots in my home.

Could you please elaborate on your setup (RAX200+Orbi)?

I've just bought a RAX200 and really wanna hang it on the wall, however, if that impairs it's performance i'm gonna tabletop it. On the other hand I don't mind picking up Orbi as well. Your input is much appreciated.
