A cat 6a Ethernet cable from your ONT to your RAXE500 is recommended.
If you install the Nighthawk mobile application on your phone or tablet, the internal test will provide data on the throughput from the ONT to the RAXE500.
Your router has Ethernet output ports rated at 1 Gbps. You would have to test load more than one simultaneously to check the output.

When I went to buy a new Ethernet cable last I saw there were now Cat8 so that's what I bought and use. That is OK right? One Cat8 goes from Gateway (Fiber Optic Modem) to the Router (RAXE500 AXE11000 Tri Band WiFi Router). The other one is still in the box. I never have the need to connect my computer directly to router anyway. The wifi is more than sufficient.

Does the cable have UTP or STP printed on it? There different though CAT# can be 8.

More than unlikely there are UTP cables anywhere near to CAT 8 ... considering this means 2000 MHz bandwidth. CAT8 would support 25Mbps and 40 Mbps Ethernet.

The wifi is more than sufficient. But almost certainly slower than a wired connection.
