X6 (R8000) - AC3200 - Sporadic Wifi speeds
Hi About 3 weeks ago I guess my Wifi started being very sporadic in its speeds. Sometimes 30MB sometimes 341MB download. No settings were changed etc. Updated to latest firmware, no luck. Factory re...
2 things you could try.
(try 1 then the other)
1. try installing version 1.0.4.28 of the firmware to the R8000. Then do a factory reset and a clean install (not from backup). disable auto-updates. the newer versions integrated netgear armor and not all r8000's played nicely with it.
2. try the virgin router in router mode and the r8000 in access point mode. Maybe its passthrough mode is sketchy

which specific one do you have? - I have Hub 3.0
Is it in passthrough/modem only mode? Yes it is modem only mode with DOCSIS

I had a similar issue to this. Is there a fix coming in the firmware?

I had to use option 2 route. And I am now getting the best Wifi speeds I have seen.
I will update the firmware later on and re-check but certainly option 2 seems to have been the most stable for me
