I got SPC working with the Nighthawk and am able to monitor the kids as advertised.
However there ways to bypass the controls from the IPAD however I get an alert when this happens.
As recommended, it needs to be a partnership with the Child so they know why we are wanting to put limits and protection so that we get their full cooperation and they learn to have some self control.
Another thing to look at is modifying the DNS to something like OPENDNS which allows you to block sites by category and specific sites.
This will not capture google image searchs, but prevents users from going directly to the sites where the images came from.
Appart from this I suggest cultivate a great relationship with your kids and above all pray. :-)

An educational opportunity (for me. I had assumed that SPC included this capability):
Aside from the problem that kids can simply set their devices to use any DNS servers they want, I would love to see a comparison between the blocking capability of OpenDNS and SPC. Does one of them (but not the other) allow the subscriber to define (a) categproes of URL's, or (b) specific URL's that cannot be opened?
p.s. I also agree completely that frank discussions with minors about sensitive topics is essential.
