Cannot Paste Images
When I attempt to Reply to a post and attempt to paste an image from the Windows Clipboard, a message comes up, "Media Upload in Progress. Please try again in a few moments."
(I would post a screen capture of the message, but that is impossible!)
This happens with the following web browsers:
Windows: Brave, Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera
Mint Linux: Firefox
Chromebook: Chrome, Firefox
Really annoying!

Now 12 weeks. Feel a bit like that person who posts once a week on the Verge about the Trump Phone.

Stored an image on DropBox (free version). URL is:
When I attempt to use the Camera icon "From Image URL:", this error message appears:
(oops. cannot paste the image. click on the URL to see it. aah, I see. Windows stored this as a "jpg" file and the Forum accepts only "jpeg", "gif" and "png")
Stored the image as "png" file:
(oops. camera icon again refuses the file, with the same error message.
Stored the image as "gif" file:
(oops. camera icon again refuses the file, with the same error message.)
Stored the image on imgbb.com:
(oops. Camera icon will not accept that, either.)
How about this link:
https://i.ibb.co/DfRxG7hF/Forum-Image.gif
So, for Windows users my advice will be:
- Do not use DropBox as the cloud service. Pick something else, such as imgbb.com
- Force Windows Snipping Tool to save the image as gif or png (jpeg is not one of the options)
- After uploading the file to the cloud service, pick the Direct Link (not the link that the cloud may show at first)
- Use Camera Icon URL option
It is not clear (to me) whether the user must upload images to different file names on the cloud service or whether the original file name (ForumImage.gif) can be reused.
Compared to simple "Cut and Paste", this is a royal pain in the (you know where).

What I use, imgbb has for for me for years.
I only use PNGs and the DIRECT LINK URL.
Once users know how to do it, it's fairly easy.
Otherwise, we'll have to wait for the fix.

Netgear said "a fix is forthcoming" on Jan 20 and it is now Mar 20 (two months). That seems more like "fell through the cracks" than forthcoming. My experience with using a URL to paste images was not entirely positive. Will do more research.....

All in there hands. Nothing we can do about it.
Using the URL link has always worked for me.

Now 11 weeks since the problem was reported to Netgear. Once again, a user was interacting with the Community to solve a problem and the obvious step was to ask the person to paste "what are you seeing?" so that people could make suggestions.

We've already made NG aware of the issue and they acknowleged it. Just not sure when the fix will be applied. Seems like the forum community is lower priority and nothing we can do about that.
For now, to be able to post a picture, put it up on a cloud share and save the Direct Link to it and use the camera icon in the post tool bar and select From URL and input the link. The picture will appear in the post. Not that hard and works well.
Send this to users who wanna post pictures.

At one time there was a Level 3 Technical Support Netgear employee with the title WW Customer Experience Community Manager. I would email that person directly and ask "what's going on?" except that since Christine retired, I cannot find anyone with a similar title.

The Community Forum does not affect the daily activities of regular Netgear employees. And those few employees involved with the Forum (moderators) may have little need to "paste" images. The only person I can think of who might care would be whoever is authorizing payment to Khoros. Something like, "Hey, this has gone on for months. Either fix the damn software or give us a discount."

This is Netgear's forum. They haven't acknowledged the problem here, and we don't even know if they've logged the bug with Khoros.
So IMO Netgear doesn't think this is a high priority.

Ten weeks now. Does not appear (to me) that Khoros thinks this is a high priority. (or any priority at all)

Personally I think that Netgear doesn't think this is a high priority. (or any priority at all)

Nine weeks now. A very tiny image will paste, but anything large enough to be remotely useful triggers the error. Noticed two users post today that they were unable to include an image in their discussion.

The ability to paste an image into a post has been broken now for eight weeks.
Perhaps the Community could take up a collection to pay someone to fix it?

Does paste work again?
This tiny screen capture from Opera browser was accepted, but a larger image produced the annoying "Media" error message.
