Impossible to change email address on the Netgear Forum, something that must be addressed!
There is a serious issue with the Netgear Community Forums where it is basically impossible to change the email address associated with the Netgear forum account.
For example, my forum email is tied to Hotmail Outlook address. If I try to change the main Netgear Account email address to another email like Yahoo, Gmail, Yandex, etc, this is successful but as soon as you try to sign in to the Netgear forums it does not let you in or migrate the forum account email!
In the past what happened was the forum would try to register for a new username it does not carry through the forum email change along with the Netgear account email change. This is hardlocked to the original email address with, which you have registered.
Around 10 months ago I PMed the Administrator on these forums who told me to create a new username after changing my main Netgear account to the address I wanted and that she would manually hard-swap at the backend something only the Admin has the power to do. I waited patiently but I received no response.
So, I then deleted that BLaZiNg_SPEED username as an experiment by closing it down from the forum settings and now of-course it will show... "Cannot find current user" "Let's get you back on track"
As a result now what happens is that if I try to log back in nothing happens with the changed email address of the Netgear account. The Netgear forums no longer prompts me to create a new username nor is it able to carry forward the email address that's associated under this username that I am posting under.
So, then I go back and revert my Netgear account to Outlook address and I am back to normal again and under BLaZiNgSPEED my original username that I wanted to change the email associated to.
Any other email address and it will spin and return me back to default (unsigned state).
It seems that I am absolutely stuck in having to use my Outlook email address for these forums.
The Netgear forum team must find a better solution to rectify this fault so that the email address can change freely. Or completely separate them like e.g. BT Community Forums have separate login system from the main BT Account.
This is why the Netgear forum login system breaks because it ties with the main Netgear account. There is no way to bypass this as they are tied together.
I'm sure anyone reading my post will have realized that they are experiencing the same problem that I am describing when they try to change their email address associated to the account!
I have never ever had a problem like this with any other community forums. Netgear is the only site that fails to let you change the email address on its forums.

I temporarily lost the ability to log in with my existing account for two days, with it recovering today. When I tried, it just went back to the page without being logged in. So just to be sure you've properly identified the issue and it wasn't something temporary, you should probably try again in a day or so.
I don't think you understand exactly what I am talking about!!
The problem I am describing has nothing to do with the inability to login with the password entered. The problem is that the change of email address of the main Netgear account doesn't carry forward for the forums and you are stuck without being able to login to the forums!
Here's what happens for better clarification!Here's example 1. The email address, that I just erased from my screenshot does not change from your Netgear username profile with the change of the Netgear account email address.
So, then this is what happens...So, here if you then enter a new email address, this becomes successfully changed! But guess what happens?!
When you successfully sign in to your main Netgear Account and even verify the new email address. That only takes care of the problem in the main netgear.com website, there I can login successfully with a changed email address, but not on the forums!
Next, you then try to sign in the forum and this is what happens...A spinning circle and after this spinning circle is completed... You are back to no where. No matter how many times you try, it will never sign you in the forums!
I am back to the default screen where the Sign In still remains at the top right corner with no success of logging in. This is the vicious cycle.
So, the only solution is to go back and return back to the original live email address of my Outlook email account. After I change the email address back to my Netgear account to the old original email address that I signed up 10 years ago for the Netgear Community Forums I am back in successfully!
This is why I am able to post and am signed in. But what if I wanted to delete my Microsoft Account and no longer want to use the email address of Outlook mail? Then I am completely stuck since the Netgear forum email address cannot be changed. See the original screenshot. That email address cannot be changed from our end. Only the Netgear Administrator of these forums can do this.
This is what I am talking about. There is no way to login to the forums since there is no option to individually enter the username/email address and password for the forums. It tries to log you in through the Netgear Account where that email address does not reflect the change on the forums! This is just very unprofessionally designed and it is this that breaks the login system of these forums!
