Please lock old threads.
Users are resurrecting old threads left and right, and the issue being discussed is often either not the same as theirs or has been resolved for the original post in a firmware update. PLEASE lock at least all messages >1 year old.

Yes, I'M YELLING!
Users are resurrecting old threads. Some are genuine requests for help that should simply be a new post, but many seem to be a new user seeking to gain status points, most likely to make SPAM posts in the future.
This is my second time bringing this up -- there was no reply from anyone at Netgear to the first one.

And here we are two weeks later with no official reply. Obviously, I'm wasting my time posting here. This forum should be called "Post your problems here if it makes you feel better, but we'll just ignore them."

Agreed please close old threads to keep the forum clean and relevant.

And STILL no reply from a Netgear representative. If the answer is "The software doesn't have that option", THEN POST THAT. But don't leave us hanging thinking that you simply don't read these or care about reported issues.
Of course, if the software doesn't allow for that, then Netgear's internal testing prior to going live was insufficient and the software is not ready for prime time. Auto-closing old threads is a basic forum need.

And here is another reason. A user has gone into this 5-year-old thread and simply copied the content of old posts: Minecraft Linux on ReadyNas Pro Pioneer | NETGEAR Communities. Why would one do that?
- They won't be automatically rejected as SPAM.
- He thinks nobody will see them.
- Posting will then raise his reputation till he is able to post SPAM or other inappropriate messages.

I took another look at them, and there were spam links in them (not relevant to ReadyNAS). So I have now rejected them as spam.

Another reason is now in the mix, thanks to search engines leading with AI summaries. Spreading repeated text around can influence those summaries.
