The instructions indicate that the user can enter the WiFi name (SSID) and password of the WiFi network. (Not select from a list). Have you tried this?

Oui, j'ai tenté de suivre pas à pas les indications de paramétrage manuel du réseau (comme précédemment écrit : "J'ai donc tenté de l'installer manuellement comme indiqué par le SAV de Withings (Cf document joint), mais sans succès").
La connection n'arrive pas à s'établir, soit que je m'y prends mal (je ne suis pas un spécialiste réseau), soit que le logiciel/matériel Withings soit en défaut.

As I read the instructions, the phone is supposed to use Bluetooth to inform the sensor of the WiFi network and from then on the sensor is to communicate through WiFi. I wonder if the problem could be the position of the sensor.
I understand the directions say to install the sensor under the mattress first. What happens if the sensor is placed in the same room with the Orbi and configured? Can it connect to WiFi when not under the mattress?

Actually, I tried both : the bluetooth connects to the sensor whether installed in the same room as Orbi, or under the mattress. But though recognised, the WiFi then fails to connect. The problem is probably due to the fact that WiFi is not automatically linked with the equipment, but needs a manual connection... which I seem unable to parameter despite Withings use instructions.
I hope that eventually Withings After Sale Service will assist me directly on the phone rather than spilling away robotised procedures away from reality, including thickness of my mattress!
Thank you for your help, but I'm fed up with this problem and tired with marketers, Withings in particular, who sell technical equipment letting people think that it's so automatically and quickly connected, and leave them alone with impersonnal use instructions booklets when they meet a technical problem.

I have not seen one of these (except for the pictures on the web site), and am puzzled about where the WiFi antenna is.
Perhaps being "under the mattress" is blocking the WiFi signal.
Bringing the unit into the same room with the WiFi router totally eliminates physical placement as an issue.
By the way, using Bluetooth to configure the product should take care of one of the frequent discussion topics about "I need to split the 2.4G and 5G SSID's", because the smartphone app should be communicating the WiFi settings directly to the product using Bluetooth.
