Does the problem occur if you switch to a wireless backhaul?
Also, what is the speed of the modem WAN port? Are the cables you are using Cat-6a? Or something else?

Hello,
I haven't tried using wireless backhaul with the satellites. But I'll give it a try.
Do you mean the port speed of my ISP modem or the internet speed I have at home? My home speed is 200 Mbps and the port is 1000 Mbps. My Ethernet cables are Cat-7.
Thank you for your help.- StephenBOct 24, 2025Guru - Experienced User

Ok. The 960's WAN port is 10 gbps. So one possibility is that there is a negotiation problem (or a cabling issue) between the modem and the router. I don't think that's likely with Cat-7 cabling though.
FWIW, I have an old Cat-5e running to my router WAN port (installed in the wall, so hard to replace). This misbehaved with my 870. I worked around it by putting a small gigabit switch on the path. So if you happen to have a switch handy, you could try using that.
But I have seen other reports of wired backhauls not working well, so I think you should try that test first.
This could also be a faulty WAN port in the 960, so you could try exchanging it if you are still in the return window. Exchanging with the seller is usually easier than getting an RMA from Netgear support.
