Hi grumpybs,
The latest version of the NETGEAR Genie should be compatible with Windows 10. I suggest making sure that the program has been completely uninstalled by checking Programs and Features under Control Panel. You can then try to reinstall the program by downloading the latest version using he link below.

Hi Metrojack,
May I know what version of NETGEAR Genie you have installed? Can you also provide a screenshot of the error message?

2.3 version
message reads; "Something caused the program to stop working and it will be shut down."
Genie actually starts-up and shows on screen for about 10 seconds before message pops up.
Everything was find before the Genie update.
I think Netgear has a bug in the update.
I looked at the Win 10 info, shows it as an App error.

My firmware update for my Netgear Genie R6300 in October 2015 went just fine. Then Microsoft sent out two updates:
-Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3105210) (Successfully installed on 11/3/2015)
-Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3106932) (Successfully installed on 11/3/2015)
After reboot, got the message, "This app can't run on the PC - Netgear Genie does not work on this version of Windows." Genie no longer worked saying it was not compatible to this Windows 10 version.
So yesterday (Nov 3) I restored the system back before the Windows update and Genie worked just fine again. But since, I have Windows Updates to run automatically, it again installed the above updates today and as before, Genie is no longer compatible.
So is this a Netgear problem or a Windows problem?
