What worked for me:
Check the 'Run this program in compatability mode for: Windows Vista'

I'm having the same problem. I just purchased a new Dell Inspiration 7000 4k video and the genie screen is so small. Can't figure out how to expand or make larger and it's too small to read. Any suggestions on making larger?

You may try the steps below as a work around and check if it fixes the issue.
1. Right click on the NETGEAR Genie app icon on the desktop and select Properties.
2. Click on the Compatibility tab.
3. Check the box for Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
4. Click Apply then OK.
5. Exit the NETGEAR Genie app by right clicking on the icon on the system tray and select Exit.
6. Open the app again and check if it worked.
7. If it did not, you may follow the same steps from 1 to 2 then check the box for Run in 640 x 480 resolution and follow steps 4 to 6.

Sorry but these did not work. The new device notifications are also very small. Other thoughts?

Hi oguidry,
The current NETGEAR Genie desktop application has not yet been coded to be DPI aware which may cause these issues with high resolution screens. I recommend keeping an eye out on the next update for the app in the event that a fix has been pushed out.
