Nighthawk 7800 & xfinity
My firmware (currently v3.01.43) is not most current. Netgear app indicates that only my ISP (xfinity) can do upgrade. Xfinity, being xfinity, says since they didn't provide router, they can't upgrad...

1. per the docsis spec, only the ISP can push the update. Its not something netgear controls. They submit updated firmware to the ISP but they can't force them to update. And they rarely do as it costs the ISP $ to certify devices. And they're very good as saying "its not our fault". Which from the technician's point of view that you talk to, they're correct. But its not something netgear can do.
2. Do you have a screen snip of the cable connections page and the event logs? That helps check the signal and the logs.
3. Does it happen at exactly the same time each day? or does it vary?
4. How old is the device?
