Setting up Netgear EX2700 when Genie no longer supporte

I am trying to set up a Netgear EX2700 but get a message that Genie is no longer supported.  I am hoping someone can assist me in setting it up.  I need the extender to firm up the connection between my new heat pump unit in my basement and the thermostat in the living room about 30 feet away.  The connection keeps dropping.

Thanks for any help,

John Tuteur

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.

Check the section in the manual Run Smart Setup Installation

    Or read this:

30ft shouldn't be a problem for most routers unless something is blocking the wifi. And you say it need it to "firm up" the connection. So it connects, but drops. I'd be wondering if you have interference on your current router. Might try changing the wifi channel. Or investigating why it needs "firming up".
