Adaptors used for both IPTV and Internet
Hi everyone, I am thinking of using 4 adaptors to do following 1) Room 1 - Connect Adaptor 1 with RJ45 cable to ISP socket and then to mains 2) Living Room: Connect 2nd adaptor to main and with RJ4...
in my case, the set up is as follows:
the ISP cable box outside the flat is split into two different cables coming in. These are terminated into 2 RJ45 Sockets, in different rooms. No other HW!
When I subscribed to an IPTV + Internet broadband service, the engineer brought an IPTV Tuner which is connected also through RJ45.
The specifics of the service are that Only one socket can be connected to the Internet at any time. This is now taken by the socket in room 2 in the following configuration
Socket --> ASUS Router --> Wireless connectivity (+ Intended location of Powerline Adaptor 3 in LAN Port 1 of the router)-------------------> (Intended location of adaptor 4. PLEASE note that adaptors 3 and 4 are not connected as of yet until I resolve this issue which I am asking as I am not sure if I will be messing both the Internet and IPTV connection)
The other socket in Room 1 is configured in the following way and is operating NOW:
Socket -->RJ45 connection from socket to Powerline adaptor --> Powerline adaptor plugged into mains right next to ISP socket---------------> Powerline adaptor in Living room --> RJ45 cable connecting the adaptor with the IPTV tuner.
