Bad Password

I have the XAVNB2001 kit. I have the v1 and v2 versions, needed to extend the network so I bought the other, newer, version about a year later. I also have one of the wired-only homeplug adapters.

I'm using the Utility to set the security for all of them. I enter the passwords that are on the back of the devices into the Utility and the password for one of the "N" devices (the one that came in the XAVNB2001 v2 kit) absolutely will not work. I've checked, double, triple checked. The passwords are fine on all the other devices.

Is there a chance that the PWD on the sticker for that device is wrong? If so, how do I find the correct password?

Now, but pressing the security button on another device, then on the "N" device it appears to be pulling the security and configuring properly, but I should be able to enter the password just like all the others, right?

Thanks in advance!

Try a factory reset. I would think so, did they come in a sealed boxed, if not maybe someone returned them after changing PW
  • Yes. Bought them brand new, sealed in box. I don't think you can change the password on these devices. I think they are hard set.

I've already done a factory reset. Doesn't help.

    Thanks!

I am having the exact same issue with my pair of XAVB2501. I want to upgrade the firmware and it keeps telling me the device password on both are wrong. Is there a fix for this?
