Does Powerline Extender Remember SSID?
My PC connects to my router using ethernet, via a pair of powerline extenders. I recently had to change the SSID on my router. On the "Network Connections" page of my Windows 10 settings, the ether...
The SSID relates to the wifi network and has nothing to do with a wired Ethernet connection.

That is probably not the SSID but the label that the router gets when Windows sees it.
For some reason, it picks up the router's default SSID and uses that.
Thanks for the reply. I knew that the SSID pertains to wifi communication, and not to ethernet signal identification. Nonetheless, when I originally connected the PC to my router (via ethernet), Windows automatically established the connection and labeled the ethernet pane (and the floating bubble above the internet icon in the system tray) with the name of what was then my router's wifi SSID. Your comment reinforced my perception that the issue is purely a quirk in Windows, cosmetic, and that I can ignore it. Thanks for that reassurance.
However, it doesn't negate the fact that my other PC, running the identical version of Win10, connected to the same router via a second ethernet cable, immediately updated its ethernet pane and tray icon bubble description to display the new SSID. To quote the King of Siam in "The King and I", "tis a puzzlement".

Same here. Not sure about immediately updated, but it shows the current SSID.
