Does using backward compatible products slow down speed on new ones?
I have a pair of the older style Netgear powerline adapters and want to invest in two of the new high speed ones to expand my network. If I am running both sets will it automatically slow down the new set to match the slow speed of the old set or will they operate at their own independent speeds?

What Powerline models do you have today?
Simply put; HomePlug 1.0 (up to 14 Mbit/s) and HomePlug AV (up to 200 and 500 Mbit/s) will not be able to work together. They can however co-exist and work on the same electrical wiring, so if you have two HP 1.0 and two HP AV, these will work with their respective HP unit but not with the others.
