So I bought the plp2000 and connected those two units to the router receiving internet (same plug that previously had a pl1000) and the work from home station both on the main floor.
I'd get back to basics.
You should have just one plug connected to the router. The add the extra plugs in the usual way.

You might want to reset the older plugs before you add them to the new plugs.
And get them working as required near to the new plugs before moving them to their intended locations. They will remember their links to the new plugs.

However, since using the plp2000 units downstairs (which work fine and have no issue) the upstairs detects that it is on a network, but the laptop gives an error:
IP address not found
"ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED"
and the PS4 also errors out saying no IP address.
The plugs are effectively just dumb LAN cables. They aren't likely to do anything to upset the laptop. So maybe there is something else going on on the network.
I'd look to the laptop and the PS4 for network problems.
