Mywifiext access pb with default ID/PWD

Hi,

I bought a second hand PLP1000/PLW1000v2 kit and dit not manage to enter Netgear genie interface following official tutorials : i.e. launching Mywifiext adress and use "admin"/ "password" to log in.

Two advices  :

- directly access to IP adress of the PLW1000v2  (beware of any fixed DHCP IP )

- have a look at : https://kb.netgear.com/000061551/PLW1000v2-Firmware-Version-1-0-0-18   ==> Netgear has changed default password (but no information found elsewhere)  . Log in with  "admin" + default wifi key.

  • No more issue.

I was just saying that , like many other people, I tried to log in with default ID/PWD : "admin" / "password" and did not succeed.

The reason is Netgear has changed the default password with the last firmware.

==> If you keep on trying with "admin"/"password", you'll never log in.

It's just an information I want to share

I'm not sure what exactly you've got going on.

Are you having problems loggin into the device?

What are the led's on it doing?

    did you factory reset it?
