NETGEAR - Powerline 2000 + Extra Outlet connected to

I have a recessed floor outlet that requires me to use a short extension cable to connect the Powerline 2000.  Is there an possibility of signal problems with this strategy?

    Netgear advises against using extension cables and the like. My experience is that they are fine. I use them all the time, with no noticeable loss.

     

    Just use something basic, no clever surge protection or anything else that might get in the way of the mains.
