Netgear Powerline 500 WIFi Access Point

I pick this up yesterday from Maplins in the UK assuming that all I'd need to do was literally plug in and I'd be up and running:confused: my own fault I guess:D.

Anyhow I plugged in the XWN5001 into the wall and connected the ethernet cable from my router into it, that seemed OK, but the second plug which is the XAV5201 which I wanted for the room where the wifi signal struggled to reach this is the plug that just got me a tad confused.

I want to connect to the second plug (XAV5201) wirelessly and not use a ethernet lead as I'll be using an Ipad + Iphone & smart Tv in that room, but when I plug the plug into the wall it starts off OK with the 2 top lights solid green and Netgear Genie picks up both plugs, then after about 15min the second plug seems to go on standby and never wakes up unless I switch it off & on from the mains and then the whole thing is repeated.

Is the second plug not meant to wake up once it detects devices trying to connect to it wirelessly?
