Netgear XET-1001 slow download speed

Hi, I have a pair of the XET-1001 powerline adapters. These powerline adapters are rated at 85Mb. I have been using them for about a month now. Every sinc I got them, I noticed that the speed for online gaming and downloading is not as fast as my wireless n. My internet is rated at 15Mb wtih a small boost. On my wireless N, i can download max at about 15-17Mb/sec. With my powerline adapter, I can only get about 8-10Mb/sec. When I check speed of the power adapters with the Netgear utility. The connection is ~65Mb. my question is, how come the internet is not as fast as my wireless N, when the connection between the powerline adapters is more than enough to handle the speed?

  • Bumping cuz of 309 views with no response...Do I need to clarify or something? Nobody has any idea?
  • I'm surprised to. Maybe customer support will have an idea.
  • I have a set of these and have the same exact problem except my downloads are even worse.

When I use my wireless I get 15Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up

If I use the Net Gear XET1001 adapters, I get 2Mbps down and 2.5Mbps up. It seems only the download speed is an issue.

My Netgear software also, only sees one of the power line adapters out of the two.
