PL1000v2 (x2) and XET1001 (x2) on one home wiring system

I have those 4 items - can I use them on one home power wiring system? That is, the 2 1000s talk to each other and the 2 XETs talk to each other for 2 seperate networking links in 1 house? I would think so since they use different technology but I want to ask here 1st

You could try it in that scenario. Two separate networks.

Don't try them on the same network. They are several generations apart and might not even talk to each other. XETs are HomePlug 1.0 while PL1000v2 are the newest AV standard.

Even if they did work, the drawback is that powerline plugs will talk to each other at the speed of the slowest plugs on the network. In the case of the XETs they work at 85 Mbps, while the PL1000v2 do 1000 Mbps ("with real throughput greater than 80 Mbps").

  • May be would be better to address at professional engineers? :smileyhappy: I don't think someone will help you here :smileyhappy:

  •  Perhaps, you can but truly saying I’m not sure about it. What I would recommend you is to address at high qualified service. When I need in the help of wiring system, I decided to address at V1 Fiber company. You know for me, it is really important so everything was perfect in the place where I live. For me, my house is the place when I can enjoy rest after a long hard day. Where I can invite my close people and to have fun together. This company is perfect in telecom fiber network who can help you resolve any issue. V1 Fiber is a full-service national provider of telecommunications industry construction, installation, and maintenance services. So, I would advise you address to them and I think they will help you.
