plp 1000 causing dsl to lose connection with fritzbox 3490
after installing my new plp 1000, they connected fine and everything is working most of the time but every now and then the dsl to the router drops and all connection is lost to the house, i have changed the dsl settings on the router to increase stability and that has helped some. however there are still drops in connection, the router has an option to change settings on powerline adapters but only of their own brand.
are there settings for the plp1000 that i can change to increase stability or am i best returning the product and finding another solution

There are various unknowns in there. Details that could make it easier to understand what is going on.

DSL? That usually used to describe an Internet delivery technology, the stiuff that comes down the telephone line.
It is a modem thing.
Are you saying that your modem loses its internet connection?
What is this modem?

What is this router and what settings does it offer?

Netgear has given up on providing a management utility for its powerline products. But these things are pretty generic. Other brands have utilities that you can throw at Netgear plugs. ZyXel's utility can get at settings that are not covered by Netgear's software.

the router is a fritzbox 3490, and the dsl light on the router goes out, i cant get to the modem easily as it is hidden behind a cupboard because of the awkward entrance of the dsl cable into the house so im unsure what modem it is. but im assuming it is the modem losing connection causing the dsl light to go out
the router has a button in the settings to search for malfunctions in powerline connectivity however it only works with fritzbox powerline appliances, which unfortunately only sell in a eu plug format so id need to use an adapter to plug one in which i hear causes more issues.
its been stable for the last 24 hours or so after setting the router to maximise stability instead of performance and also moving the powerline connected to the router further away to hopefully move interference away from the modems wires, initially the problem was happening every couple of minutes and dropping for 30 seconds or so at a time, so im hoping it is resolved but will update if it isnt
