I'm plugging in to each of Plug an 8- port switch. One switch is powering my entertainment center and the other is simplying powering my POE access point. I'm using Ubiquiti switches.
Router -> Ubiquiti -> Plug (PLP2000) ----- Plug (PLP2000)-> Ubiquiti -> entertainment center
\---- Plug (PL1200) -> Ubiquiti -> POE AP
To measure speed across my network I did several different test.
1. Iperf3
2. Speedtest.net
3. Raw gopro file to/from destination
All three gave the same results within a couple of megs. It does not matter from which switch I plug into for the test. They all give the same results in any direction.

Looks a bit complicated to me. Are powerline plugs really up to feeding 8-port switches?
I have a simpler setup with a receiving plug in front of an Orbi AP. I then feed devices from the AP. If I needed more ports, I would put the switch on the AP.

The ammount of data the either switch is on average less than 10M. But when I'm wanting to watch a 4k movie from my Plex server is where I begin to run into problems.
