PLW1000 Ignores DHCP lease time
Two people have raised this problem in the last two years, but the discussion was closed due to inactivity without a solution being suggested. They reported they were using PLW1000V2. I have a PLW1000, but I hope this might help them, and anyone else with the same issue. I'm running Firmware version V1.0.1.6
Briefly, the PLW1000 ignores the lease time and repeatedly asks for a new lease every 30 seconds, filling up the router's event log.
I had the same problem until today when I changed both my BT router to allocate a static address to the PLW1000, and then crucially made a corresponding change on the PLW1000 itself.
Log on to the PLW1000 as admin, select SETUP then IP Address Setup, then select Use Static IP Address. It shouldn't be necessary to change any of the data fields (gateway, mask, etc) if you're keeping the existing IP address and merely changing from dynamic to static.
My PLW1000 is no longer filling up the router's event log with lease requests.

Nice bit of research. Pity that the manual for these things is so useless.
Did you also Reserve the IP address on the router?

I'm using a BT Home Hub 5. DHCP configuration is somewhat limited.
It seems the best you can do is to limit the range of DHCP addresses that the router can allocate, and then configure a static IP address for the PLW1000 (and any other devices needing a static address) that's outside this range, but in the same subnet.
