Powerline & VPN problem

Hello Community Wizards,

I have been using aforementioned Powerline adapters without any problems for a long time. Recently, I started using a VPN service which is installed on my PC (Win7). Since then, Netgear USB Control Center can't detect my powerline adapter anymore. I have tried using the powerline adapters on a different computer and they work perfectly fine - plug&play.. booom. The adapters show up in my router and they have security clearance. However, by using the Powerline tool, I found out that they are not assigned an IP address, which I believe (so, basically don't know) they were before I installed the VPN software. I used them to connect to speakers which I plugged into the powerline adapter via USB. Please help me if you can, I'll provide all necessary information if needed. For the time being, I'll continue to shower in dire silence.
