Powerline 1200 doesn't exit power-saving mode
I have a new PC attached to a Powerline 1200 node. My backup software shuts down Windows after running the backup overnight. After restarting the PC in the morning, I'm finding that the PL1200 is...

I think I found a solution though I can't explain why it might have fixed the problem. I changed the network configuration of the Ethernet controller's Power Management, unchecking "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". The PL1200 was never going into power-saving mode while the PC was powered-up so I don't know why changing this would have made a difference, but since I made this change (going on 5 days now) every morning when I power-up the PC, the PL1200 transitions from power-saving mode to online.
Thank you for your input; appreciated!!

Is there any way around this besides leaving the PC running?
The PL1200s are running fine except for this annoyance.

Sadly, Netgear gave up on providing software that lets you turn off power-saving mode.
In the past people have used ZyXel's powerline utility to do this:

Michael: Thank you. I saw other links to this software in this forum but yours was the only one that worked! I will give this a try.

Hope it works.
Sadly, while I used the ZyXel thing on my plugs back in ancient history, going back into it now, those settings are greyed out.
Maybe it is plug dependent.
In general, Powerline stuff is generic. Same chips and stuff in different bits of plastic. If ZyXel doesn't work, maybe one of the others will. I haven't tried them all.

That's a Windows thing.
Windows see no acion on Ethernet connection. Disables it. Plug goes to sleep because nothing is happening. (Usually it will keep looking for life on the PC.)

It wasn't the plug then, but the PC's Ethernet.
This is usually something that afflicts USB devices. Your plight reminds us that other devices can also be affected.
Nice bit of troubleshooting on your part.
