Powerline 1200 prevents other wifi devices from working

I just purchased the 1200 powerline adapter and plugged everything in as instructed.  As soon as I did, the other devices that use the wifi router disconnected from our wireless network (Netflix, laptop, etc).  As soon as I unplug the cat5 cable that connects the powerline plug to the wireless router, the other wifi devices begin to work again.  Also, the PS4 that is connected to the other end of the powerline won't recognize the new connection.  All 3 lights on the powerline adapter are green when everything is connected.
