Powerline adapter packets dropped by Router
Setup my first powerline adapter yesterday and noted that I was getting request drops when pinging my routers gateway address. I decided to bypass the router and plug straight into my modem and, walla, no packet loss. The router i think is an archer 2300 by Dlink. I tried disabling some AV settings on it but no luck. My next thought was to put the PL adapter into dmz but it doesn’t appear as though DHCP designates an ip for it. The other thing I noticed was the modem designated an IPV6 address; I suppose I could change the modem to IPV4 just to observe results but honestly, I’m must happy it’s working at this point. My modem has ZERO security on it atm as I had those duties offloaded to my router; but it’s not that big of a deal as I’m using the PL adapter on a game console. Are there common issues with PL and certain routers that would result in the packet-loss I’m seeing?

Packet loss is just when the signal gets so garbled from interference the system discards it. All powerline devices are sensitive to interference. These can be so simple as a cell phone charger to cause issues. Other things that cause interference are gfci breakers, arc fault breakers, high draw appliances, cell phone chargers, etc.
Its a challenge since you don't have the issue without the router. Maybe the routers power adapter is adding interference. Are you using surge protectors or outlet multipliers? its not recommended to use this with powerline devices.
