Powerline AV500 - can't see NETGEAR_EXT after factory reset

I've recently hit a factory reset (trying to recover password), but now I've lost the NETGEAR_EXT altogether.

It was working fine before, I did the factory reset, and now the network is no longer showing.  I can't see any troubleshooting for this.  Can you help!

On the main unit, it's plugged into router and my normal internet is working correctly.  The powerlight is on solid green.  The Powerline LED is off.  The Ethernet light is on solid green.

On the second extender unit the powerlight is solid green and the Powerline LED is off.  The wifi Light (I assume it is) is blue.

Since factory reset I just plugged them in and now the NETGEAR-EXT has disappeared from my wifi list.  I've tried a few times, and now have done the factory reset again to 'start from scratch'.  I have not pressed anything on Router eg WPS, nor the security bottons.

Not getting the genie or anything to help me set up as the network has gone completely!

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

  • Is anyone able to suggest how to fix this?  I've managed to get all the lights on but still can't see the 'NETGEAR_EXT' network?!

      Hi jh321

      Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

May we please know the exact model number of the powerline adapter?

Do you see other WiFi network that has _EXT? Do you have Internet connection when wired to the powerline adapter?

      Regards,
