That could be down to the laptop. Windows is great at blocking access to new networks. Try telling it "Private" network.
Windows 10?
- Network and Internet settings
- Network Status
- Change Connection Properties
- Network Profile
- Private
Windows 11?
- Network and Internet settings
- Ethernet

On the Samsung, is it a new one? They have taken to using the "security" move of creating random Mac addresses, along the same lines as Apple:

It was working on the same laptop prior to this (and has now randomly started working again several hours later)
The Samsung is about 3-4 years old. Partners Samsung tablet and phone also werent connecting yesterday
Powerlines are plugged directly into power sockets at both ends

So it is fixed now? With no intervention on your part?

Yes, it came up with no intervention from me (or anyone else as far as I know, I'm the tech person in the home)
Still up so far so good.
I am starting to wonder if this is something to do with the power saving feature kicking in and the router dropping the DHCP to the LAN port as a result and not starting it up again when we go to use it again
Also cant log into the mywifiext page for this, never have been able to, get connection refused. If I was able to get into that would I be able to turn off the power saving from there? The miniscule amount of power saved is not worth the hassle!
