Powerline Utility - what do these numbers mean?
What do the RX:125 and Tx:125 mean? Are they the speeds the device is seeing? I have 100 coming into the house and my PC connected to the XAV2101 and speedtest shows only 30 or so. What's goi...
yes it would be compatible. Problem with powerline is though it operates and the lowest devices speeds. so it'd slow the whole powerline network down to the 200mbps speeds/specs.

Are you needing more than 30mbps? That's enough to stream 4K and because its powerline, it tends to be a stable 30mbps.
If you're transferring a lot of data, there might be better options like a moca adapter (ethernet over coax). It has the potential for significantly more speed.
those are theoretical link speeds.
doesn't mean you'll hit those speeds as many things impact powerline performance.

it goes over tested powerline performance. Look at the speeds and the models hitting those speeds. the XAV2101v2 is a 200mbps powerline device.
Thanks, the chart shows a benchmark of about 40 so given I'm getting 30 or so, I guess that's not too bad. I was under the impression that if I had 100 coming in that the adapter might lose 10-20% of the speed, not 60%
Given the charts that show 60% loss, if I have 100 coming in and want close to that at my PC then I should be using one rated at 500 or so. Is that right?

But at lot depends on your home setup. If you're home isn't condusive to powerline or has a lot of interference, it could be less than that even.
Many things cause interference and can lower powerline speeds.
Thanks again. If I upgraded to the 1000, would my XAV2101 rated at 200 be compatible downstream?
