Fixed.
I installed a network scanner on my iPad (Fing) to get the IP address of the WiFi access point. Then logged into that using the default username/password.
This was after leaving the device unplugged for a couple of days.
Hope this helps someone who is having same issues as I was.
If I didn't fix this myself I would be stuck with a paper weight. And the fact that there is no warranty coverage after 3 months is appalling. In future I will not be purchasing any more Netgear products.

It would be appalling if it were true. It isn't.
The three months (90 days) applies to the free support. Warranties are at least a year, depending on where you are.

I purchased my device on March 7th this year, and after registering, it came up with the following:
Product Warranty Information
Product: PL1010v2Country of Purchase: JapanPurchased on: 2021-03-01Standard Product Warranty:Hardware Warranty: ExpiredPhone Support: ExpiredEmail Support: ExpiredChat Support: ExpiredPower Supply Warranty: ExpiredAccessories Warranty: ExpiredI bought it from Amazon.com and shipped it to Japan but that shouldn't limit my warranty ans I can happily post it back to the states. I also attached the Amazon receipt for my registration but that has made no difference.Anyways attached a screenshot of the above.
