PowerLINE WiFi 1000 (PLW 1000) bought second hand
I have bought a second hand Powerline WiFi 1000….I am not sure if I am entitled to any sort of support but my thinking is….if I don’t ask I will never know. Anyway, here goes. The item is as new an...

The Factory Reset button is on the bottom. See page 7 of the user manual.
Page 14 describes using the reset button.
Anyone who has physical access to an electronic device can reset it to factory specifications and erase all passwords and configurations. Passwords can prevent access to information. They cannot prevent someone from reusing a device with new passwords.

Netgear provides 90 days of 'complimentary support' for products purchased new from an authorized Netgear reseller. So, second hand = "no Netgear support". (Which is why people come to user forums.)
There are several models of PowerLine. Enter the exact model number from the product label (often on the back) into the search box on this web page:

The User Guide should explain how to log into the Power Line WiFi.

Many thanks for info CrimpOn. Looked into user manuals and they aren’t going to cover my situation. I guess I am looking for some way to reset everything and, thinking about it, that’s why we have passwords so someone cannot do what I am trying to do. I think I am on a loser. Thanks for your input anyway.
- Look up reset in the manual
