Pre-purchase XAV5... questions
I have searched but cannot find the answers to a few relative simple questions:
1, how many powerline adapters can be placed on one network? I have about 6 that I would like to add to my home network--one at my router and 5 others in different rooms.
2, I assume that XAV5001 and XAV5501 have the same guts and are interchangeable--one just has the receptacle?
3. Is there a great advantage in purchasing the 5504 rather than a gigabit switch + a 5001 or 5501 adapter?
4, how do these work with the DHCP server part of my network router? are they even assigned addresses on the network?
Thanks,
Ken K

No. If you already have a switch, or want a switch with more ports than the XAVB5001, then no advantage.- kdkroneAspirantThanks to you both for your responses. It was not clear how to contact Netgear for pre-sales information. Unfortunately, jmizoguchi, the link you reference has not been updated since 2008 (http://support.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1125), but Netgear has informed me that up to 64 units can be connected, way beyond my needs. I post this for anyone else who may be wondering.
Cheers
